We used to have an IRC channel, but not anymore. It wasn’t used much. But if you’re looking for an IRC channel to discuss GNU/Linux related topics, all major distributions have their own dedicated IRC channels. We have some links to those IRC channels here: More | get GNU/Linux!
This is the first time I hear about Matrix by the way. It sounds very interesting. I noticed some major distributions have dedicated rooms there as well. I’ll have to give it a try.
